From a sequence of photographs by Nicholas Nixon. Four sisters shown over twenty-four years. The blonde one, second from right, is the photographer’s wife. The only formal constraint seems to be that they’re always in the same left-to-right order.
I’m a sucker for this brand of time-lapse photography. It seems to prompts all sorts of guesswork about what’s been happening between the taking of each photo. Plus in this case you get to contemplate the similarities and differences between the four sisters.
